1. What Are Cookies?

2. How We Use Cookies
Sails uses one cookie, and only to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, Google Analytics or the Facebook pixel.
Necessary Cookie
Required for signing in. Without it, you can browse the site but can't use your account.

3. Managing Cookies
You have several options for managing cookies:
Cookie Notice
The first time you visit, you'll see a short notice explaining that Sails uses one sign-in cookie. Because we don't use optional cookies, there's nothing to opt out of.
Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically:
- View what cookies are stored
- Delete cookies individually or all at once
- Block third-party cookies
- Block all cookies (note: this may break site functionality)
- Clear cookies when you close your browser
4. Local Storage
Sails also saves two small settings in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device:
- sails-theme: whether you chose the light or dark theme
- salestaxjar_cookie_consent: your choice on the cookie banner
Your account data (businesses, orders, filings and calculations) is stored on our servers, not in your browser.
5. Do Not Track
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature. Sails doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies, so there is nothing for Do Not Track to switch off.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our practices. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised.
